Happy First Day of March!

Well, it is March! The first two months of 2011 flew by! This month is packed with lots of events and activities so I will waste no time and get right to listing them!

1. PTF (Youth- Middle/High School) Camp-out -  Friday March 4th/Saturday March5th: The Point To Faith group will camp out at Phipps Park Campground in Stuart. The theme will be "What are we putting into our bodies and how will it affect us?" Youth will meet at Trinity at 5:00 p.m. for carpooling or you can meet us at the campground. Contact Ms. Jen for details - ms.jen@trinityjb.org

2. Palm Beach Zoo - Grades K-5 Only - March 6th. Drop kids off at the church at 12:15pm with a bagged lunch. We will eat our lunches at the church before we leave for the zoo. We will return to the church around 6pm. Please send money for snacks, drinks or souvenirs with your children. Is anyone interested in driving and joining us at the zoo? Please let Miss Christin know. YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR CHILD FOR THIS TRIP BY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2ND because tickets must be purchased in advance.  Email Madeline if you would like to attend but have not yet signed up.   madeline@trinityjb.org         

3. Spring Festival - March 12th 5pm-8pm. Volunteers are needed. Please let me know if you are able to help at this event. We are very excited to be welcoming "In The Walk" - contemporary Christian band and worship team to our sanctuary. As always we will have a bounce house, pony rides, crafts, face painting and dinner - ALL FOR FREE! We hope you will be able to join us for this amazing outreach.

4. Tickets for the Spaghetti Sauce Cook-off Fundraiser, to be held on March 27th at 12:30pm, will go on sale March 6th after both services in Fellowship Hall. We will also start signing up folks to enter their spaghetti sauce and desserts on March 6th. 

5. Little Caeser's pizza orders and payments are due on March 13th. I must transmit the full order the next day in order to have the pizzas here for our March 25th delivery day. How are your sales going? Please continue selling as many kits as you can. All profits will go towards our Family Retreat in May. The more you sell, the less each of us will have to pay!

6. Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge Potluck Dinner - Tuesday March 22nd at 5:30pm. Bring a dish and join us for a fun evening of good food and fellowship as we welcome a high school group from "Up North" who will be here for the week working on a Habitat build.

Mother's Day Brunch - Sunday May 8th at 12:15pm - By invitation only (all Family Ministries moms will be invited). The dads and the kids will be waiting on us!

Rummage Sale - May 20 & 21st - All proceeds to benefit Family Ministries Trips (retreat and  mission)

Give God the Glory!

Hello everyone,
The weather is getting warmer and spring is in the air. While folks up north are still battling the cold weather and winter precipitation, we are so blessed to live here in paradise! All glory to God!


Speaking of being thankful to God, how about the Daytona 500 the other day?! Trevor Bayne, who is twenty years old, competing in his second major race WON the Daytona 500! In the winners circle he gave all the glory to God and thanked his Lord and Savior for this miracle in his life! In addition he pledged to donate a large portion of his team's 1.46 million dollar winnings to various worldwide Cristian charities. All Glory to God! We should all pay close attention to the example young Mr. Bayne is setting!


So, what's happening this week at Trinity? Lots of great stuff!


Highlighted Serve Opportunity

PTF (Point To Faith - youth group) ia collecting disposable diapers, baby wipes and toddlers underwear for The Gertrude Walden Center in Stuart - a wonderful facility that provides daycare and parental education and support for low-income families. Please bring the diapers, wipes and underwear into the church before February 27th.

1. Access 218 Concert (PTF Youth) - Tonight at Hobe Sound United Methodist Church. Meet at Trinity at 4:15pm. Concert and pizza at 5:30pm. Group will return to Trinity at about 8:15 or 8:30pm. 

2. K-5 Movie Night - Saturday February 26th from 5pm-8pm in Fellowship Hall. The movie will be "Ramona and Beezus" and pizza will be served. No need to sign-up, just show up and drop off your grades K-5 kids. (THIS EVENT IS FOR GRADES K-5 ONLY).


3. Back to School Fair Committee Meeting: Please join us on Sunday February 27th at 12:15pm in the Sunday school room off of Fellowship Hall for our first Back to School Fair Committee meeting. We really need your help so please consider joining us!

Blessings, Blessings, Blessings....... and more Blessings

 If you are anything like me you sometimes fall into the trap of getting caught up in the "day to day stuff" that goes on in our lives. I get so bogged down with making lunches, doing laundry, going to work, making dinner, doing homework, grocery shopping, etc., that I sometimes forget to take the time to truly look around me and to be sincerely thankful for the amazing blessings God has placed in my life. Sure, I thank Him every morning but when I really take the time to think about the wonderful people and the endless love He has blessed me with, that is when my soul is filled with The Holy Spirit and I feel compelled to joyfully thank Him and praise Him for loving me so much! I pray that each of you will find a little time each day to look around you, be filled with The Spirit and joyfully praise our Father who loves us so much!


Among our many blessings is the blessing of our church and the amazing ministry He has called us to. As the Spirit fills you this week, here are some opportunities to worship, connect and serve here at Trinity:

Upcoming Events and Opportunities
1. Christan Family Night at the Martin County Fair:
We will meet right inside the main gate at 6pm on Thursday evening (Feb 17th). The concert begins at 8pm - Grammy nominated -"Fireflight"


2. PTF (Youth) Access 218 Concert and Pizza Party at Hobe Sound United Methodist Church - Wednesday, February 23rd - meet at Trinity at 4:15pm (Ms Madeline will be here to watch younger siblings until our Connect Group dinner starts at 5:30pm). The youth will return to the church at about 8:30pm. 

3. Grades K-5 (ONLY K-5) movie night - February 26th from 5pm-8pm. Join Miss Christin for a dinner and a great movie in Fellowship Hall! No need to sign-up - just show-up!

4. Little Caesar's Pizza Fundraiser - How are sales going? Remember, this fundraiser will help lower the cost per person of our Family Retreat on Memorial Day weekend. If you plan on joini ng us for the retreat weekend - please sell as many pizza kits as you can. Remember, we will continue to sell through March15th - our delivery day is March 25th. I still have selling packets available if you have not yet gotten one!

5. Tickets for the Spaghetti Sauce Cook-off Fundraiser, to be held on March 27th at 12:30pm, will go on sale March 6th. This is a revision from last week's blog where I stated that we would start selling tickets on Feb 20th. In looking at the calendar and other events, programs that are happening, it makes more sense to start selling on March 6th.

6. Back to School Fair Committee Meeting - Please consider serving on the Back-to School Fair committee. We need all the help we can get for this amazing community outreach program. The meeting will take place on February 27th at 12:15pm in The Bob Hobby Room.

Happy Valentines Day!

Don't forget to do something nice for those you love this coming Monday, February 14th! Although, shouldn't we be showing the love of Christ to everyone, each and every day of our lives? Valentines Day is certainly a great time to show our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ a little extra love, but let's not forget what Christ told us, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ " Another words, show love every day, 365 days of the year! Amen!


Anyway, here are some important reminders for the this week:

1. If you have not picked up your Little Caesar's Pizza Sales Kits, please be sure to get them this week (Wednesday or Sunday) in Fellowship Hall. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards our Family Retreat in May.


2. Family Fun Night is this coming Sunday, February 13th at 4pm. Join us for Penny-a-Pin bowling at Jensen Beach Bowl. We will meet at the bowling alley at 3:45pm. Please be prepared to pay for your bowling (if you bowl like it won't cost you much!), shoes and snacks. We will have pitchers of soda available.


3. Fireflight Concert at the Martin County Fair. Wednesday is the last day to purchase your $5.00 general admission tickets for Christian Family Night at the Martin County Fair. Tickets at the gate will be double the price. We will meet inside the main gate at 6pm or at the stage at 7:45pm. If you would like tickets, please email me by Wednesday, February 9th.

8. Tickets will go on sale for our Spaghetti Sauce Cook-off Fundraiser on February 20th. The event will take place on March 27th after the second service and the tickets will be $7.00


9. I am looking for folks to work on the Back to School Fair Committee. We will have our first meeting on Sunday February 27th after the second service. We need some folks to take on some really important jobs for this amazing outreach event were we hope to provide free back to school physicals, free sneakers and school supplies to all children who attend. Please consider serving on this committee!

Happy February!

Well, it is February already - believe it or not!


The next few months will be very busy.....with all good stuff!


Be sure to check out the rest of our website and especially the calendar for upcoming events.


Here are some important highlights:


1. We are beginning our Little Caesar's Pizza Fundraiser this coming Sunday - February 6th. Be sure to pick up your selling kit in Fellowship Hall after the services. This is a major fundraiser that will go towards our Family Retreat in May. The more we sell, the less it will cost each of us to go! We will sell through March 6th and our delivery date is March 25th. Look for more information in your instruction letter when you pick up your selling kit.


2. Extended Family Connect Groups begin tomorrow night - Wednesday February 2nd. Dinner is at 5:30pm and groups start at 6:30pm. Even if you have not signed up, please join us. we will have enough room for everyone.


3. Martin County Fair - Christian Family Night (February 17th) tickets are available in my office for $5.00 each. This includes general admission and admission to the Fireflight concert. We will meet inside te main gate at 6pm or at the stage at 7:45pm for the concert. Get your tickets now because they will be double the price at the gate!


4. Family Fun Night is Sunday, February 13th at Jensen Beach Bowl Join us at 5pm for Penny-a-Pin bowling! It only costs a penny-a-pin! Please be sure to be prepared to pay for your bowling, shoes and food. We will have some pitchers of soda available!


5. Reminder - please fill out your scholarship applications for summer camp. we will attend the week of July 4-9 at Warren Willis Camp in Leesburg, FL. The applications are available on the Warren Willis Camp website or in my office! Submit your applications to me and I will send them on to Warren Willis.

Let's Remember How Blessed We are To Live in Florida!!!!

Hello Families,

I have been reflecting this week on how blessed we are to live in Florida! The other day it was -27F in Chicago and the snow continues to build up across the north - all the way down to Atlanta! So, I feel incredibly blessed to be living here in Florida where we can actually enjoy being outside!


Because we have such great weather we are able to plan many great events here at Trinity. Here are some reminders and updates for our upcoming Family, Children and Youth (PTF) activities!


1. Connect Groups will begin the first Wednesday in February (2/2/2011). You must sign up ahead of time! If you have not yet signed up for a group it is imperative that do so ASAP. The groups are almost full and we are assessing the need to add another group but if we don't know that you are planning on attending then we may not have a group for you to join! Please email Susan Engle at susanengle@trinityjb.org or sign up on your connect card on Sunday - you must sign-up you kids also!


2. We have added some activities for the elementary aged kids as well as the youth (PTF). Please check out the website calendar for the following events:
* Christian Family Night at the Martin County Fair - Thursday February 17th at 6pm
* PTF (Wednesday Night Connect Group) at Access 218 concert and pizza night at Hobe Sound United Methodist Church - Wednesday February 23rd at 4:15pm

Hello Again Trinity Families!

I pray that you are all having a wonderful week and enjoying the warmer weather!


Here are some important updates and reminders for this week:


1. Kid's Klub Lunch and Assistance:

 - We need families to sign up to provide lunch for our upcoming Kid's Klubs. We generally have 20-25 kids plus 2-3 adults at each Kid's Klub. We need a nutritious yet easy lunch (i.e. sandwiches and baked chips, chicken nuggets and baked fries, pizza, etc. - we have drinks here at the church). Here are the upcoming dates where lunch is needed:                                                                   * January 23rd
  * February 6th    
  * February 20th
  * March 6th
  * March 20th
* We also need an adult to assist Ms. Christin on each one of these dates.


Please let us know which date(s) you are able to supply lunch for the kids  and/or assist Christin by emailing me at madeline@trinityjb.org


2. The Youth Group (PTF) will be meeting at the church this coming Sunday morning at 6am and heading to the beach for sunrise prayers and breakfast. They will then return to the church to change clothes and attend the 9:15am service. If you have not yet RSVP'd to Ms. Jen or if you need more information, please be sure to email her at ms.jen@trinityjb.org. Parents, Ms. Jen is looking for someone to help with transportation. Please contact her if you are able to help.

3. Family Retreat Fundraising:  
  The Family Retreat (April 29-May 1) will be an amazing, transformational time this year, just as it was last year.
As with everything it must be paid for! The cost per person is very reasonable - two nights of lodging and four meals (Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast) as well as use of the facilities and a three hour challenge course and evening campfire is only $95.00!! We will be asking those who are able to contribute to the cost for their family to attend. However, we would like to ensure that all who would like to attend are able regardless of their ability to pay. Therefore, we will be holding two big fundraisers in the next few months. We need a few folks to volunteer to work on a Fundraising Committee to get started on the plans for these fundraisers. Please join me for a meeting this coming Sunday, January 23rd during Kid's Klub (12:15pm-2:15pm). Please email me to let me know you are willing and able to help - madeline@trinityjb.org.


4. Women's Retreat:
 Please join us this coming Saturday, January 22nd from 9am-4pm for our annual one day women's retreat. All of us moms/caregivers deserve some time to spend together with other women of faith where we can connect with one another and our Lord. There is a $10 suggested donation for the day and lunch will be served. Childcare is also available for the entire day!!!! Please contact the office to register - susanengle@trinityjb.org or call 772-334-3404. Walk-in registrations will also be accepted.


5. Connect Group Sign-ups:

 On February 2nd our next Extended Family Connect Group Cycle will begin. There is a group for elementary aged children and one for the youth group also. I will not be leading a group this cycle but I will be attending Buford and Stella's group called "When God's People Pray". I invite each of you to choose a group that you find meaningful and join. Please be sure to sign-up your children as well as yourselves on you connect card this coming week.
